The Experience

Leonardo da Vinci VR is an educational experience in Virtual Reality in which you embody a newly arrived apprentice to Leonardo da Vinci’s workshop at the Sforza Castle in Milan. Experience how a Renaissance workshop worked through different mini-games led by the hand of the Tuscan painter and explore a gallery with real-size reproductions of some of his most famous paintings and inventions.

The Sforza Castle

Travel back in time to the Sforza Castle of the XVI century, where the famous Italian polymath Leonardo da Vinci temporally set his workshop, and feel yourself in the space of one of the most powerful dynasties of the Italian Renaissance.

Become an Apprentice

Embody a young apprentice under the master’s mentorship and learn about the arts and science of the period in an interactive way through mini-games. Listen to Leonardo’s teachings on painting, sculpture, and the making of pigments, and get your hands dirty.

Discover and Learn

Walk around the workshop and learn about the world of the Renaissance and who was the real human being behind the myth through diverse objects, areas, and activities.

There currently is nothing like "Leonardo da Vinci VR" in the fields of Virtual Reality and humanities. This experience is unique.

THE SPARK BEHIND THE PROJECT

Leonardo Da Vinci VR is the first project of Stega, an independent group of developers and artists from sunny Málaga in Spain.

It started being crafted in 2021 as the result of the fascination of the company CEO with the figure Leonardo da Vinci and her conviction about VR’s potential to send us back in time.

We strived in achieving an immersive and enjoyable experience while trying to keep it historically accurate.

Leonardo’s legacy has been an inspiration for older and new generations, and with this experience, we wanted to approach his life and oeuvre in an educational, fun, and interactive way.

Recreating Leonardo's workshop has been quite a challenge. We wanted to ensure that anyone could enjoy being his apprentice for a little while.

Is there any reference in the VR experience you didn't get? Leonardo da Vinci VR has been developed upon detailed research on the subject of Leonardo da Vinci and his time as it was conceived as both an educative and a fun experience to play. As we are aware that many of these historical aspects included in the experience can be unknown to many, or those who know a little and would like to dive deeper into them, we have come up with the Leonardo da Vinci VR Codex. This is conceived as a support document for those who want to know further about the subjects this experience offers historically-wise. The texts are written in a readable way to be easygoing for everyone. Enjoy!
